Sunday Lunch Program

Time:  10:30 am – 1:00 pm

Location:  St. Francis School, McCarthy Hall (enter the Marian entrance between the church and school, go downstairs) which is the school cafeteria

Information:  Student/parent teams will be helping prepare the meal, serve the guests, and clean up after the meal.  Guests of the lunch program include anyone who is in need of or wishes to come for a meal free of charge.  There is quite a cross section of people from our community, most deal with poverty, many have mental health issues and many we know nothing of their background.  With this in mind, students should work in twos or with another volunteer most of the time.  They are also free to come into the kitchen if at any time they are getting too much attention from a guest.  The does not happen frequently but could occur.  Guests are for the most part courteous, grateful and hungry.  Each group will be scheduled with a seasoned volunteer coordinator.  There may also be 1-2 additional experienced volunteers. The student/parent teams will be directed to various jobs according to the meal plan for the day and the coordinator on duty.
